Paint pouring, or fluid art acrylic, is exactly what it sounds like. It’s the swishing about of multiple colors of super wet runny paint, mixed and layered in order to achieve a semi-predictable outcome. It is abstract or representational abstract. The paintings below are all on canvases. There’s a lot of chemistry in this technique and chance. Some paints sink and some paints float.
I have a lot of small studies here – trying out paints, but I am starting to do landscapes up to 16″ x 20″…. The mess is not quite Pollock-level, but in the end, there is as much paint on the paint-catching pro as there is on the canvas….. Very satisfying process even if the results are somewhat, ‘meh?’
